Here is a brief summary of what I expect from you and what you can expect from me in this course. Course policies and information are described in more detail in the rest of the syllabus.

Expectations for students #

In this course, I expect you to…

• During class: Participate by coding along and engaging with exercises
• Requesting code help: Document what you’ve tried to solve a code problem when asking me for help
• Assessments:
  • Complete weekly problem sets and two take-home exams
  • Submit assignments on time and claim deadline extensions at your convenience
  • Revise incomplete problem set submissions for full credit
• General support: Communicate with me about your learning needs and how the course can support your learning

Expectations for instructor #

In this course, you can expect me to…

• Lecture notes: Post materials promptly after class for reference
• Office hours: Be available for you to book meetings for course-related or other chats
• Email: Respond to emails within 48 hours
• Feedback: Promptly return feedback on submitted problem sets and exams
• General support: Facilitate your learning and make course adjustments to support learning when appropriate
